The Health Check™ is a flat-rate onboard inspection of your boat’s core electronics, with a written Electronics Condition Report and a call with the technician who wrote it. Ideal before a trip, a purchase or sale, or a yard period.

The visit How the Health Check™ works

One of our factory-trained, NMEA-certified technicians inspects and tests your boat’s core electronics dockside. A senior technician then reviews every finding and writes your Electronics Condition Report, with clear recommendations you can act on.

We come to you – dockside, in the yard, or on the hard – and most checks are completed in a single visit. The inspection is non-destructive. A sea-trial add-on is available to test proper operation under way.

Systems, software and data What we inspect and address

We work through your boat’s core electronics system by system:

  • Displays and data backbone. MFDs, chartplotters, NMEA 2000 and Ethernet networks.
  • Navigation. GPS, radar, sonar, autopilot, heading sensor and compass.
  • Communication. VHF, AIS, MMSI, antennas.
  • Monitoring. Engine, tank and bilge data at the helm.
  • Security. Remote monitoring and alarms, cameras, tracking and geofencing.
  • Power. House bank health, charging, DC distribution.
  • Seakeeper. Run hours, alarms, service bulletins, where fitted.

We also update every supported system to its latest software and firmware, flag legacy gear the manufacturer no longer supports, check whether your charts are current, and back up your waypoints, routes and settings to an SD card before we touch anything. Your data stays yours.

The report and consultation What we deliver

Know exactly where you stand, and what to do next. Your Electronics Condition Report gives you:

  • Full inventory of onboard systems, by location, with serial numbers
  • Condition and findings for each system, with run hours, alarms and service bulletins where reported
  • Software and firmware: as found, as updated
  • Chart status: current versus available updates
  • Waypoints, routes and settings backed up to SD card, delivered with the report
  • Photos of key equipment and any issues
  • Prioritized recommendations: now versus monitor

Then the consultation: a phone call or meeting with the senior technician who wrote your report, to review the findings and plan next steps. What you keep is a baseline for maintenance, resale and peace of mind.

Flat rates by vessel size. Travel time may apply.

  • Up to 35 ft – $750
  • 35 to 75 ft – $1,250
  • 75 ft and over – $2,450

The Marine Electronics Health Check™ is a visual, functional condition assessment of accessible systems, reflecting the date of inspection. It is not a warranty, guarantee, or marine survey. Some systems require a sea trial or panel removal, which fall outside standard scope. Liability is limited to the fee paid; use of the report constitutes acceptance of these terms.
